Abu Dhabi reveals public transport schedule for Islamic New Year 2025
Free parking across Dubai, excluding multi-level terminals, for the holiday
ABU DHABI’s Integrated Transport Centre (ITC), under the Department of Municipalities and Transport, has released its official schedule for public services during the Hijri New Year 1447, which falls today.
All Customer Happiness Centres across the emirate will remain closed on the day and reopen on Monday, 30 June.
Residents can still access services digitally via the ITC website, the "Darbi" app, the "TAMM" platform, or by calling the 24/7 support lines at 800850 and 600535353.
Bus service details
Public buses in Abu Dhabi will follow the standard weekend and public holiday schedule, with additional trips on intercity and regional routes. The Abu Dhabi Link service will operate as usual from 6am to 11pm, while the Abu Dhabi Express bus service will run from 6am until midnight to accommodate increased travel demand during the holiday.
Dubai announces free parking
Meanwhile, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has issued its own service adjustments for the Islamic New Year. All RTA Customer Happiness Centres will close on Friday, although Smart Centres in Umm Ramool, Deira, Al Barsha, and the Head Office will remain operational around the clock, providing full service via digital kiosks.
Dubai Metro will run from 5:00am to 1:00am, and the Tram will operate from 6:00am to 1:00am. Public buses and marine transport will follow revised schedules, and users are encouraged to check the S’hail app for real-time updates.
Vehicle testing centres will be closed on 27 June, reopening the following day. In a move welcomed by many, Dubai’s public parking will be free on Friday, excluding multi-level terminals.
